The brief rarely contains silence. Clients request light, views, ventilation, slim frames<\/a>. But when we complete a project, and lose our train of thought in the middle of a conversation as the room suddenly feels quiet \u2014 that\u2019s when you know something hit. That silence is not accidental. It is designed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When a Client Notices Silence First<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In residential and mixed-use projects, people usually notice acoustic comfort only when it\u2019s missing. The hum of traffic, distant car horns, voices outside on the street. These sounds don\u2019t announce themselves. They sneak into the mix and incrementally degrade quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something we\u2019ve seen common to all our projects here at GREFET<\/a>. You don\u2019t often hear clients say, \u201cI want good acoustics from this window.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will say, \u201cIt feels peaceful on the inside,\u201d or \u201cWe didn\u2019t know how noisy it was on account of that.\u201d That reaction says more than any test result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
